Press Release:

Empyrean Throne has released a new single entitled “Blood In The Ardennes”, available for download only on the band’s Bandcamp website.

“Ardennes is a song that we have had in our arsenal for a very long time. In fact there are tons of YouTube videos of us performing it live,” says front man Andrew Knudsen. “We figured that we owe it to our fans to give them a good studio recording of the track”.

Blood In The Ardennes is interesting in the fact that it officially marks the end of the “Demonseed EP” era of Empyrean Throne, as the band gears up for their first full-length release entitled “Chaosborne”. Kakophonix the bands cellist and lead orchestrator elaborates. “While the new album will more accurately represent the manifestation of Empyrean Throne today, this single (Blood In The Ardennes) is special to us in a very different regard because it helps us own where we came from.”

Empyrean Throne has already begun show casing new material for “Chaosborne” on the road having just wrapped up a short west coast tour. “Blood In The Ardennes” is that final closing chapter of Empyrean Throne’s beginnings before the dawn of a new era in the band’s history.

“This single tells of an alternate World War 2 timeline, where the Nazi’s, in a last bid for power in 1944 tried to resurrect the dead through a chemical agent known as Zyklon Omega,” Knudsen says. “This goes horridly wrong creating an army of Nazi Zombies. The song itself is told through the eyes of a panzer grenadier at the Battle of the Bulge, which has taken a very dark turn for both the German and Allied forces.”

Empyrean Throne would like to invite you to listen to “Blood In The Ardennes” and remind you to be on the look out for the dark tidings from their full-length album “Chaosborne”.

Track Name: Blood In The Ardennes
The frost seeps in with it’s tendrils of pain
Supplies run dry as more lives are claimed
The Night is silent as it maw opens wide
The last munitions spent along with our lives

With the Allies in front
And the Dead at our backs
We’ll dig our own graves
As we fight to the last man

From beyond the trees
Screams of the Fallen serenade our kin
From beneath the snow
Death’s Head smiles down on our ranks again

This Genesis lies at fault with ourselves
Feeding the infection as the Omega Zones fell
As the gods forsaken us, signing over our fate
Hell-bent we continued to slay and exterminate

Joachim Peiper
Your nothing but a fool
Consider surrender
Our lines are now withering

From beyond the trees
Screams of the Fallen serenade our kin
From beneath the snow
Death’s Head smiles down on our ranks again
From beyond the trees
Screams of the Fallen serenade our kin
From beneath the snow
Death’s Head smiles down on our ranks again

What’s left of our souls is condemned
This bastion we cannot defend
What’s left of our souls is condemned
This bastion we cannot defend

Their rotting flesh rides on the howl of iced winds
The onslaught is calling as penance for our sins
I can picture them charging, spilling into our lines
Devouring our bodies leaving nothing behind

There is no way to stop them
We’ve ran out time
So prepare your weapons
And make ready to die with them

From beyond the trees
Screams of the Fallen serenade our kin
From beneath the snow
Death’s Head smiles down on our ranks again
The Sons of Malmedy stalk us in silence
As they descend upon the last of my friends
Like wolves they’ll cry and rejoice in our agony
Till this dark slaughter will end

My fate has been sealed
With my frozen comrades
They’ll feast on our flesh
As we spill our blood in the Ardennes!
